Truth Behind WWE Scrapping Ronda Rousey Vs. Becky Lynch
WWE has moved away from Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 39. Here's why...
Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch is no longer part of WWE's plans for WrestleMania 39 - and the reason for this has just come to light.
The Wrestling Observer reported last week that WWE had moved away from the idea of Lynch and Rousey colliding at 'Mania, which will be held in Inglewood, California on 1 and 2 April. This came as something of a surprise, as the match had been rumoured for years, going beyond even Rousey's WWE comeback at Royal Rumble 2022.
DAZN's Steve Muehlhausen reports that those close to the situation believe that the Lynch/Rousey bout has "lost its luster." They are of the belief, too, that the duo should have gone one-on-one at WrestleMania 35, when Rousey was at the height of her powers.
Rousey vs. Lynch appeared to be WWE's direction heading into 'Mania 35, before Charlotte Flair was added to the main event, making it a three-way. Lynch ended up triumphing via pinfall on Ronda, capturing the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships simultaneously.
Rousey recently dropped the SmackDown Women's Championship to the returning Charlotte Flair, doing so on last week's episode of SD.
