The card for this year'sWWE Payback pay-per-viewis starting to take shape as two championship matches were made official during the April 11 episode of Raw.

AJ Styles will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Sami Zayn in a match to determine whether the Payback main event would be a singles or Triple Threat contest.

Styles was initially made the number one contender when he won last week's Fatal 4-Way match; however, Shane McMahon awarded Zayn an opportunity to join the picture after Kevin Owens attacked Zayn before last week's crucial bout.

Owens came out to protest McMahon's decision, later demanding his rematch for the Intercontinental Championship lost at WrestleMania 32 in a seven-man Ladder Match.

Wanting Owens to earn his opportunity, Shane-O-Mac announced a contest between Owens and Cesaro for an opportunity to challenge The Miz for the IC Title at Payback, a bout that Cesaro won.

A Number One Contenders' Tag Team Tournament kicked off on Raw with the winners earning an opportunity to face The New Day at Payback. The brackets are: The Usos vs Social Outcasts (Usos won), Golden Truth vs The Vaudevillains, Enzo and Big Cass vs The Ascension, and Lucha Dragons vs Dudley Boyz (Dudley Boyz won).

After Natalya went so close to capturing the WWE Women's Championship against Charlotte on Raw, it appears as though the pair will meet again on May 1st.
