It's not known as of yet if Reid and Fowler have been granted their release, and likewise it's not known why the English duo want out of WWE. However, this report does state that the pair expect to be able to announce there reasons shortly.

It should go without saying, but there is expected to be significant demand for the Schism men on the US independent scene and in the UK should they indeed get out of their WWE contracts.

As a pair, James Drake/Jagger Reid and Zach Gibson/Rip Fowler have been teaming since as far back as 2017. Where WWE is concerned, the Grizzled Young Veterans first appeared for the promotion in early 2017 - Drake as part of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament - before becoming a staple of NXT UK through until 2020. From there, GYV would be moved to NXT in February '20, though their initial run with the Florida arm of WWE developmental was hindered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

April of last year saw Drake and Gibson get the Reid and Fowler monikers handed to them, and that July would see them join forces with Joe Gacy for what would become the Schism. Of course, the Schism most recently came up short against Chase U and Tyler Bate at Stand & Deliver this past weekend.
