Two years removed from his last match with the company, Tyson Kidd is back working for WWE in a full-time capacity. According to this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former WWE Tag Team Champion has this week started work as a SmackDown producer.

As was previously reported, Kidd was backstage at this week's show. It was the first WWE event he had attended since suffering a severe neck injury while wrestling Samoa Joe in a Raw dark match in June 2015.

Though Tyson has never officially retired from wrestling, he is not expected to compete again. He was presumed expected to miss a year of action, but later revealed that only 5% of people survive injuries like those he'd incurred. His last major run came through a tag team with Cesaro, with the duo becoming champions in February 2015.

Kidd's new role will also allow him to film footage for the upcoming season of Total Divas with his wife, Natalya. Tyson was removed from the show's previous season as WWE were reportedly fearful that he'd open up about the extent of his injuries, but he now looks set to return.
