3. Heinisch’s Reality Check

Since officially signing with the UFC in 2018, Ian Heinisch has been eased gently into the landscape of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. At UFC 241, though, the 31-year-old was hit with a reality check.

Against Derek Brunson, Heinisch offered little of note as The Gatekeeper took him to school.

Brunson got the unanimous decision victory to extend his record to 20-7, and this was a win in which Brunson pretty much dominated from start to finish. For Heinisch, this should serve as a major wake-up call if he’s serious about making a major impact in the UFC.
