Apollo Crews and MVP will finally contest the WWE United States Championship in the opening match of tonight's RAW.

WWE announced the clash on Sunday, with Crews out to avenge the injury angle that saw him written off television a few weeks ago, leading to MVP declaring himself the real US Champion in his absence. A definitive finish should put the saga to bed.

The injury storyline was devised to cover Crews' absence, as the United States title-holder was taken off television after testing positive for the illness currently sweeping the globe. Apollo's last televised appearance was the 29 June episode of RAW and he was booked the defend the strap against MVP at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules on 19 July, but had to be pulled following the test result.

Good to hear that Crews has seemingly made a full recovery. He has held the United States Title since 25 May, mounting successful defences against Kevin Owens and Andrade, but lost a non-title match with MVP on 29 June.

Apollo was seemingly in the midst of his biggest main roster push upon departing, so it'll be interesting to see if he picks this back up.
