Update On AJ Styles' WWE Injury Status

When will we see 'The Phenomenal One' again?

As reported earlier this week, AJ Styles was injured during his WrestleMania 35 match with Randy Orton, forcing him to miss both a VIP meet and greet session at Axxess and this week's episode of SmackDown.

The deals of the former WWE Champion's injury weren't revealed at the time. Fortunately, a new report from PW Insider sheds light on the situation, with their writeup claiming that Styles suffered a hip injury when hitting a Phenomenal Forearm on Orton from the ring apron to the arena floor.

Sent home from New York on Monday, AJ's injury was diagnosed on Tuesday. There's currently no word on its severity or when 'The Phenomenal One' might return, but for now, it looks like he's out of the picture.

This is a blow for AJ, who would've made an excellent first opponent for new WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. Regardless, this isn't the worst time of year to be taking off. Next week's Superstar Shake-Up guarantees widescale roster changes. Countless wrestlers will be given the chance of a fresh start, meaning Styles can quietly disappear for as long as he needs to without impacting ongoing storylines.
