It is expected that Chavo Guerrero Jr. will be back in All Elite Wrestling once he has finished working on season two of Young Rock.

This is according to Dave Meltzer, who writes in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Chavo's beatdown on last week's episode of AEW Rampage was intended to be a temporary write-off.

Guerrero Jr. works as the wrestling coordinator on Young Rock, which is based on Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's life, and needed to take time away to focus on the NBC sitcom during production for its second season.

When the show was renewed, Chavo was brought in on the agreement that he would be allowed to work through All Out 2021 (5 September) before taking off.

Debuting in July, Guerrero Jr. has appeared exclusively as Andrade El Idolo's executive consultant in AEW. The WCW/WWE veteran was attacked by Andrade after interfering in last week's match with PAC, leading to the Lucha Brothers beating him down, shelving for the foreseeable future.

There is currently no word on what kind of AEW role Chavo will occupy if and when he is brought back to television.
