Update On Goldberg's WWE Contract And WrestleMania 33 Opponent

Every man has their price. Vince has met Goldberg's.

Just a couple weeks ago, Goldberg was set to only do one match for WWE, and then ride off into the sunset. Apparently both sides are interested in continuing the relationship, as long as it's a successful one.

According to the Pro Wrestling Observer, Goldberg received a "big money deal" for his match at Survivor Series. He will apparently keep working for the company as long as they keep matching that deal for future appearances. Right now that is all up to Vince McMahon, but as we saw on Raw, Goldberg is booked for the Royal Rumble, and likely WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer reported that the plan is for a Goldberg/Lesnar rematch to go down at Mania. If nothing else, that's pretty great news, as it takes Shane McMahon vs. Lesnar off the table for the show.

The most likely scenario to get there is that Lesnar will cost Goldberg his opportunity to win the Royal Rumble, which would set up another showdown for the biggest show of the year.

It will be interesting to see how WWE books a rematch, as this last bout was so short they likely can't do something like that again. Lucky for Goldberg, is that he'll have a few more months to get into ring shape so he can work a non-squash match.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie.
