An update on AEW star Kenny Omega, who remains sidelined through a myriad injuries.

All Elite Wrestling's next pay-per-view, Double Or Nothing 2022, takes place on Sunday 29 May - and is likely to go down without Kenny Omega.

Dave Meltzer reported on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that while specifics on the former AEW World Champion's injury recovery are thin on the ground, things "don't sound promising" for him and Double Or Nothing. The absent star is unlikely to make it to Las Vegas.

Omega has been away from professional wrestling since November 2021, when he took time off to undergo surgery and heal from myriad issues, including shoulder and knee problems, a hernia, and vertigo, many of which he had been working through for over a year. In March, Kenny himself claimed that while he had originally planned on returning that month, he was yet to undergo separate procedures requiring a recovery period of around two months.

26 June's AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV may be a more realistic target for Omega, whose New Japan tenure means he'll be one of the first names on the card if fit and ready to go. Whether or not this will happen remains to be seen, however.

All the best to Kenny in his recovery.
