Update On Possible SummerSlam 2018 Plans For Brock Lesnar

Who will get a crack at 'The Beast' and his Universal Title?

Seth Rollins Roman Reigns

Shortly after last night's episode of Raw concluded, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Roman Reigns is much more likely to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam this August than Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman.

Meltzer cited the commentary during an opening tag-team match pitting Reigns and Rollins against Jinder Mahal and Elias. Throughout, Michael Cole and pals discussed how Roman had been cheated at the Greatest Royal Rumble and seemed to sow the seeds for another rematch with Lesnar.

That'll be torturous for anyone who hoped WWE might pivot to a program between Brock and Rollins, or perhaps give GRR winner Strowman another shot at Raw's top title.

This puts to bed any stories circulating that Meltzer viewed Rollins as the prime candidate. Seth was the one pinned by Elias (largely to set up their impending Intercontinental Title match at Money In The Bank), and he seemed to be portrayed as a lesser star than Roman.

In Meltzer's mind, there has to be a reason for that. Between the Reigns-centric announcing and the fact Seth took the fall, it seems WWE want to promote another Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar match.
