Update On Rey Fenix's AEW Injury Status
What's going on with Rey Fenix, who hasn't wrestled since April.
A suspected groin injury will likely keep All Elite Wrestling's Rey Fenix sidelined for another month, reports Bodyslam's Cassidy Haynes.
Fenix hasn't competed for AEW since wrestling Chuck Taylor in a Dark: Elevation match taped on 23 April. Upon reaching out for an update on the Lucha Brother, Haynes was initially informed of a six-to-eight-week absence for the 30-year-old.
There's currently no word on when, exactly, Fenix was injured, though it's safe to assume that AEW will be keen to have one of its biggest in-ring standouts of 2021 back in action before long.
Fenix's Death Triangle stablemates, PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo, have stayed active in Rey's absence. PAC faced Orange Cassidy and AEW Champion Kenny Omega in a losing effort at Double Or Nothing 2021 on 31 May, while Penta competed in the night's Casino Battle Royale, before joining forces with PAC to face The Young Bucks on last week's episode of Dynamite.
6 January saw Fenix challenge for Omega's AEW World Championship on the special New Year's Smash edition of Dynamite. He and Penta also faced the Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles in April.
