On December 10, 2017, WWE star Rich Swann was taken into custody in Gainesville, Florida on charges of battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment.

Both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon answered questions about Rich Swann's status in WWE during a recent appearance on the Television Critics Association's winter panel, and the power couple left Swann in no doubt about his future if found guilty.

Should the Cruiserweight be imprisoned for the domestic incident involving his wife (independent wrestler Su Yung) then he will be automatically released from his WWE contract.

“We are just waiting on the legal", Triple H said to the panel. "We have a zero tolerance policy on that, as you’ve well seen, so he’s suspended until it is determined legally one way or the other.”

Stephanie chimed in by adding, "if he’s convicted, he will be released", to which Triple H definitively stated the release would come "immediately".

It's hard to see a road back for Swann even if he's cleared of any wrongdoing. Domestic abuse is not only a serious issue, but this has also been terrible PR for WWE over the Christmas/New Year period.
