Update On When Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) Will Wrestle Again
The former WWE Champion is about to become a very busy man.
Jon Moxley may have been released from his WWE contract several weeks ago, but it looks like fans may need to wait before the former Dean Ambrose debuts on the independent circuit.
Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Moxley's involvement in the upcoming MMA-themed Cagefighter movie looks set to hold his wrestling return up, with the 33-year-old not taking any bookings until he has finished filming.
Moxley joined the cast under his real name (Jonathan Good) last week. It's currently unclear how long he'll be occupied for, though he isn't playing the lead.
Cagefighter stars the MMA-trained Josh Herdman as an overconfident fighter who loses a bout with a former pro-wrestling making his debut. The cast includes Michael Jai White, Gina Gershom, and Michelle Ryan, as well as current UFC stars Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, and Alexander Gustafsson.
Moxley's WWE release has been one of 2019's biggest stories, and some diehards still refuse to let go of the idea that it's a work. Wacky conspiracy theories aside, it'll be fun to see him do his thing outside of WWE's over-the-top Sports Entertainment environment, particularly as he hasn't worked an indie bout since 2011.
