Update On WWE's WrestleMania 34 Plans For Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens

Bad news for SmackDown's biggest frenemies.

Though WWE have spent the past few months building Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens as SmackDown's top heel act, it looks like the villainous duo may have to settle for a peripheral role at WrestleMania 34.

As per Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan is to have Zayn and Owens enter the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, rather than compete in a spotlighted singles or tag match.

A one-on-one contest had been rumoured, with Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan picking sides as part of the ongoing power struggle storyline. Sadly, this is no longer on the cards, and despite their outstanding work as SmackDown's resident frenemies, it sounds like Zayn and Owens won't be given a WrestleMania focus.

Meltzer also writes that there are currently no plans to have Raw Tag Team Champions The Bar wrestle in New Orleans. Sheamus and Cesaro may feature in an angle, but after running through every other duo on the red brand, they won't be competing.

WrestleMania 34 is just over three weeks away, and WWE's propensity to change their mind means all this could change, but for now, these wrestlers must be content with a spot on the bench.
