Updated Lineup For WWE Payback

Four matches are rematches from Extreme Rules.

This week's Raw was the last episode before Payback, so we got a better sense of what to expect from the PPV on Sunday night. What was interesting is that it looks like WWE has a full card ready, but they have advertised six matches officially with a couple of others very likely to take place. Keep in mind that WWE is taping Smackdown tonight, so they will probably make other matches official at that show. Here are the six matches that are official as well as notes on the others that are likely going to take place. WWE Title: Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose - It's a fatal fourway match where the first fall gets the win. A stipulation was added on Raw by Triple H where he told Kane that if Rollins doesn't leave Payback as WWE Champion then Kane will be relieved of his duties as Director of Operations. A Rollins loss is possible although it would be damaging to take the title off him so soon. US Title I Quit Match: John Cena vs. Rusev - It's the fourth straight PPV match for them. Cena won the last two and will probably win this one. The loss for Rusev is very likely going to lead to Lana breaking away from him leading to her face turn. Tag Team Titles 2/3 Falls: The New Day vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro - This is a rematch from Extreme Rules. They did another match on Smackdown that ended with a DQ, so it makes sense to do it again at Payback. It could be the match of the night because these teams have awesome chemistry. There's a chance that The New Day could change their performers around for different falls, which would make it unique. Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler - It's a rematch from Extreme Rules. That was a "Kiss Me Arse" that Ziggler won, but Sheamus attacked him after it was over. King Barrett vs. Neville - This is their third big match in the last month since Neville beat Barrett at Extreme Rules and then Barrett beat Neville to win King of the Ring. Either man can win this one although it would be smarter to keep pushing Barrett since they need more top heels. Macho Mandow (Damien Sandow) & AxelMania (Curtis Axel) vs. The Ascension - It's a comedy match that is going to take place on the Kickoff Show. Four of those matches are rematches from Extreme Rules. That's quite a bit. Ryback vs. Bray Wyatt is likely going to take place as well. They should have advertised it a few weeks ago, but for whatever reason they haven't made it official. It will likely be announced on Smackdown. For the divas, we don't know what is going to happen for sure. It might be Nikki Bella vs. Noami for the Divas Title although it's possible they go with a tag match where Nikki teams with Brie against Naomi and Tamina Snuka. Paige is expected back any week now, so she'll be a part of the mix soon as well. If that's the lineup with no additions then they would have seven PPV matches plus one match on the Kickoff Show, which is typical for a WWE PPV event. We'll have more WWE Payback coverage throughout the week as well as plenty of analysis after the show is over.
