Former NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream was involved in a car crash on Friday, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

Dream was taken to hospital, but Sapp has since been told by WWE that the star was discharged and didn't suffer any major injuries.

News of this car accident comes after it was reported by Mat Men Podcast that the charismatic talent's days in WWE were 'numbered'. Sapp also chimed in on the story by stating he'd heard some 'not so wonderful news' about the NXT performer from various sources.

Ever since Dream was accused of illegal social media activity back in April, the wrestler's future in the company has been a regular topic of conversation. Recently, more allegations were made against the 24 year-old as part of the #SpeakingOut movement.

It must be said, Sapp also noted that the 'not so wonderful news' was nothing to do with these recent allegations.

Dream didn't appear on this week's edition of NXT and it isn't clear when (or if) the star will return to the black and yellow brand.
