Vince McMahon thought Rob Van Dam was already in the WWE Hall Of Fame before inducting him in 2021.

RVD lifted the lid on this incredible story during an interview with Busted Open Radio. According to Van Dam, John Laurinaitis told him that Michael Hayes was the one who pointed out that no...Rob wasn't in the HOF and McMahon was free to induct him last year.

That was news to the boss.

WWE scrambled to put on a worthwhile ceremony during the pandemic, and RVD admitted that the whole process (played out in front of an empty arena) was very strange - the promotion had piped-in applause ready to go for each speech, and that made the experience odd for Van Dam.

Maybe the HOF thing wasn't Vince's priority as WWE motored towards WrestleMania 37. Or, perhaps the patriarch just doesn't pay much attention to who has or hasn't been inducted. That's clearly the case when it comes to at least some of the workers who have been honoured.
