WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is fed up of standard Empty Arena Era pay-per-views and could be on the verge of doing something "wacky" for SummerSlam 2020.

This is according to Bryan Alvarez, who claimed on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live that Vince doesn't want to hold another PPV in a building populated only a by a few dozen mask-wearing fans. He wants something different: very different, in fact.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp has reported that WWE is considered an outdoor location for the 23 August show. Mike Johnson of PWInsider, meanwhile, claims that the promotion has held talks about doing SummerSlam on a cruise ship or at the beach.

It was confirmed last week that SummerSlam would not be held in Boston's TD Garden arena, as was originally planned. A replacement location was never officially announced. Now, WWE is reportedly thinking about a boat or a beach - and not just for a single match. Johnson states that the whole card could conceivably go down at one of these locations.

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton and RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits vs. Angel Garza and Andrade are the only matches confirmed for SummerSlam 2020 so far.
