Wardlow was back on AEW television last night, returning to Dynamite for the first time since 28 December.

The former TNT Champion had been out of action since a post-match beatdown by Samoa Joe, which, tragically, saw Wardlow's wonderful top-knot cut from his head. As revealed by Dave Meltzer last week, this angle was to cover for a legitimate injury Wardlow had suffered - though no return timeline was provided.

Wardlow emerged with a new haircut last night. Drawing a great pop after Joe had regained the TNT Title in a brutal main event with Darby Allin, Wardlow attacked his rival, though Joe slipped out of the ring, escaping before the big man could land a powerbomb.

Joe's win over Allin means his status as 'The King of Television' is reestablished, as he once again reigns as AEW TNT and ROH Television Champion. AEW now appears to be heading back to his feud with Wardlow.

Wardlow's reign as TNT Champion ended when Joe pinned Powerhouse Hobbs in a three-way for the belt at Full Gear 2022 (19 November). MJF's former bodyguard has been gunning for the strap ever since.
