Jim Ross doesn't shy away from real-life stories on his excellent 'Grilling JR' podcast.

Recently, the AEW announcer revealed that he shared a touching, emotional moment with young Brodie Lee Jr before the promotion paid tribute to his sorely-missed father on Dynamite. In amongst all the tears and fond memories of Brodie, Ross made a heartfelt promise to the eight-year old boy.

JR wanted to try and make the kid happy, so he said he'd announce his first ever wrestling match when Brodie Jr eventually grows up and pulls on some boots. According to Jim, Brodie Jr "thought that was the coolest deal". Following up, JR said that he was touched when the kid admitted his dad regularly spoke highly of Jim's commentary work.

Brodie Jr "remembered that and thought it was pretty cool".

It's genuinely lovely that Ross tried to make Brodie Jr smile when he must've been going through hell. The pair were attending a Jacksonville Jaguars NFL game with other AEW staff and wrestlers when someone snapped a pic of them chilling out.

Brodie Jr would go on to play a big role in AEW's tribute edition of Dynamite.
