What Wrestling Legends Really Think Of Modern WWE

2. Arn Anderson

Steve Austin
AEW

Arn Anderson was a producer in the WWE system for decades. He is an authority on the manner, and while one can't discount potential bitterness, he has a full-time paying gig (albeit with the competition). He's not out there sensationalising sh*t to improve his podcast numbers.

He speaks frequently about his time in it, and is less than effusive in his praise. In April, he praised the Revival/FTR as even better than his own Brain Busters tandem that inspired them. "The best of those guys has yet to be seen, put it that way," he said.

Subtext translated: "...when a mad old despot stops putting topical cream in their poor ar*eholes".

Arn also reserved scorn for the commentary team's horrendously counterproductive habit of burying talent on air. "We make them look bad on our own show. What is the sense to all that?" Arn reasoned, and the answer, as ever, is "because Vince". Because Vince is a lunatic.

Arn, in discussing virtually every WWE talent, ultimately says something to the effect of "They're talented, but you wouldn't know, because the system is broken".

And, since Brodie Lee has more buzz from Being The Elite than he did when appearing for the biggest promotion in the world, it's difficult to disagree with him.
