Which AEW Wrestler Did Jon Moxley Want To Form A Tag Team With?

Jon Moxley planned to form a tag team with the late Brodie Lee before his untimely passing, the star has revealed during a conversation with Metro.co.uk.

After going to war on numerous occasions throughout their WWE runs together, as parts of The Shield and The Wyatt family, along with a superb AEW World Championship programme in the lead-up to last year's Double or Nothing PPV, Jon Moxley has stated that he intended on joining forces with Brodie Lee in AEW.

During the conversation, which took place before Moxley's Bloodsport 5 TKO victory over Davey Boy Smith Jr., the current NJPW United States Heavyweight Champion revealed:

"I had an idea to eventually one day – I like tag team wrestling, you know? And there’s so many great tag teams here that I wanna get to work with. But it’s like, OK, I’m gonna need a suitable partner, not just any random guy. I want a full, actual good tag team run with a good partner, make a real run at having a run in this tag division.

The guy I was thinking about doing it with was Brodie Lee. He was a good friend, and I wrestled him so many millions of times, our styles would have complemented each other very well."

Jon Huber was tragically taken away far too soon in late December 2020, with AEW producing a fitting tribute to the talented wrestler and loving father on Dynamite shortly after.

There's no questioning the fact that Moxley and Lee would've made for one hell of a duo, no doubt going on a tear which would likely end in an AEW World Tag Team Championship run. Yet, it sadly wasn't to be.

Moxley looks set for a busy couple of weeks going forward, defending his NJPW US Heavyweight belt against KENTA at NJPW New Beginning USA on February 26, before battling Kenny Omega for the AEW World title at Revolution 2021 in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch on March 7.
