Which Ex-WWE Star LIKED Losing The Intercontinental Title?

"I wish I could have lost it later on in the same night".

The Miz Zack Ryder

Remember when Zack Ryder won the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 32 then dropped it to The Miz 24 hours later on Raw? He does, but the reborn Matt Cardona believes you only recall that due to the brevity of his reign.

That's a...fair point.

During a Q&A session for 'Pro Wrestling Junkies', Cardona revealed that he didn't mind losing the IC belt as quickly as he did. In fact, he actually wanted WWE to book a loss the same night as his emotional victory at 'Mania.

"Why have the title for two weeks or two months? Unless I’m going to go undefeated for two years, take it off me! You know what I’m saying?".

Cardona also said that the story of Zack Ryder relied on being an underdog who was always striving for more. He's not sure it would've made sense to have a lengthy stint as champion anyway, so he didn't shed any tears when management told him he'd be jobbing to Miz.

"If I would have lost it, I don’t know, at Backlash against Cesaro or something - who cares? I’m glad that I lost the next night. Perfect fit for my career!".
