Which Ex-WWE Star Wants To Return As A Commentator?

It could be comedy gold. Or not...

Former WWE funny man Santino Marella has told Back Sports Page that he'd love to make a pro wrestling return, albeit as a commentator.

If he did launch a comeback, Marella says he'd ditch the gimmicked moniker and go by his real name, Anthony Carelli, because he doesn't think Santino's constant humour would be viable as either a play-by-play or colour announcer.

Fair point.

Carelli's first choice would be WWE, but he realises that spots are limited in the company. He said during the interview that he'd happily go elsewhere, though he does dream of working with Vince McMahon (whom he "loves") again and doing something more serious in his old stomping grounds.

The one-time master of the "Cobra" has stated several times that he was never 100% comfortable with being a celebrity during his WWE career. It used to bug him when friends would introduce him to others as "Santino Marella from WWE". He relished the chance to go back to being "Anthony from the neighbourhood" again post-run.

Would you like to see Marella back in WWE as an announcer? Would it be too weird to see him without the Santino gimmick?
