NXT Champion Adam Cole revealed which moment made him smile most during WWE's WrestleMania 36 weekender in an interview with GameSpot.

When he wasn't busy talking about video games (specifically the sweet Final Fantasy VII remake that has the world's attention), Cole was giving heavy props to the NXT Women's Title match between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair.

He found the whole scenario motivating, because it showed the "growth and development" of NXT as a brand. It also told Cole that he could maybe be on the 'Mania card next year if he worked hard enough; it's a big goal of his to defend the NXT Title on WWE's biggest show.

Cole said he felt vindicated by seeing an NXT belt on the annual showcase. It made him feel good that Rhea got to work a marquee bout opposite someone like Charlotte, and it gave him hope for the future of others grafting in NXT.

The NXT Champ made sure to point out that seeds were sown for NXT's WrestleMania involvement back at Survivor Series last November. He singled that out as a turning point for the brand's importance.
