Which WCW Match Made Zelina Vega "Believe She Could Wrestle"?

WCW's imprint lives on...

WWE star Zelina Vega told Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso that Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero at WCW's Halloween Havoc 1997 pay-per-view is responsible for her career.

A young Zelina watched that famous scorcher with her father, and she was blown away by how Rey stole the show despite his diminutive size. That, in turn, made Vega believe that she could do something similar, and it inspired her to never let her lack of height get in the way of her goals in life.

That's cool as hell.

Vega also discussed her current objectives in WWE. Number one on the list is defying the odds to transition from a manager to a full-time in-ring talent so she can become Raw Women's Champion at some point in the future. That's a goal Zelina is totally unwilling to give up on, and it's all because of Mysterio's work on 26 October 1997.

The then-six year old dreamer watched in awe as fans leapt up out of their seats for two men who weren't WCW's top stars. She realised then that it was possible to live out her own ambitions if she worked hard enough.
