Which WWE Star Did Vince McMahon Want To Be A Producer After Retirement?

The former Raw Tag Team Champion was handpicked by Vince McMahon himself.

Vince McMahon reportedly wanted Brian Myers, the former Curt Hawkins, to work as a backstage producer once the former Edgehead was done with his in-ring career.

This comes via a new interview Myers was part of with Fightful. He stated that after he suffered an injury in 2018, McMahon had Mark Carrano, WWE's former Head of Talent Relations, contact Hawkins regarding working in the role further down the line. According to Brian, he primarily shadowed other producers, and clarified to Vince that he did want to wrestle again once he was healthy enough to do so.

Having Curt Hawkins work as a producer may seem like a weird move for WWE, but take into account some of the other producers they currently have; Jason Jordan, Tyson Kidd, and Jamie Noble may not seem like the typical guys Vince thinks highly of given their WWE tenures, but they're all still working for Vinnie Mac.

Currently residing in IMPACT Wrestling, the now-Brian Myers also confirmed that it was Tommy Dreamer who got him signed to the Anthem-helmed promotion. 'The Innovator of Violence' reportedly reached out to Myers just a week after he was released on 15 April 2020.

Whether or not 'The Most Professional Wrestler' ever makes it back to WWE, either in an in-ring or backstage role, remains to be seen.
