Fightful Select are reporting that Chelsea Green was on/off scheduled to rename herself "Victorious" on last week's episode of SmackDown.

WWE were keen on the name change, and even scripted Green to cut a post-match promo after her debut match on the brand. "Another broken arm", suffered when Chelsea bumped off the ring apron, prevented that from happening.

Now, the change is up in the air.

Some staff raised concerns that WWE wouldn't be able to trademark "Victorious" as a standalone name. Nickelodeon's TV series of the same name, which ran between 2010-2013, was cited as one possible legal issue, but it seems Vince McMahon was dead set on ploughing ahead anyway.

Green's wrist injury meant she never cut that promo, so WWE will have to wait if they do plan on renaming her in the future; if they do, then there's a chance the company will float other ideas they can copyright easily.

Fightful did add that WWE referred to Chelsea as "Victorious" on last-minute SmackDown format sheets. It's unclear whether she'd still be called Chelsea Green or completely shift away from that to "Victorious" though.

"Victorious" Chelsea Green would probably make the most sense.
