Some fans groaned when WWE shoved Sheamus and Cesaro together as an unlikely tag-team towards the end of their 'Best Of 7' series in 2016.

The feuding pair quickly gelled however, and they grew into one of the best tags in the biz as 'The Bar'. It turns out, according to Cesaro's interview with talkSPORT, that Mick Foley was the one who came up with the idea originally.

He identified the chemistry Sheamus and Cesaro had together behind the scenes, liked what they were doing in-ring and pitched 'The Bar' to WWE's creative department. Neither man knew that was happening behind the scenes, and they were as surprised as anyone when writers told them the plan.

Despite being hesitant at first, the duo realised that they could do something special if they put their minds to it, and they gave everything to make the team work.

Meanwhile, a certain Mr. Foley sat back pleased that he'd been able to help and come up with a team that'd blossom into the new linchpin of Raw's tag division.

Imagine how creative Mick would be without all those bumps!
