"It would've been cool to see his reaction".

Dominik Mysterio's thoughts turned to the late, great Eddie Guerrero mere hours before his WWE pay-per-view debut at SummerSlam 2020.

Rey's son told WWE's cameras in his hotel room that he dearly wished Eddie could've been around to see him take his first steps into the ring as an active pro wrestler. That would've meant the world to Dom, because 'Uncle Eddie' was always so kind to him and made sure to keep his head straight during their controversial custody angle in 2005.

15 years on, Dominik can only look back on Guerrero with a smile, but he would've loved to see his face at SummerSlam.

Dominik also told WWE that Eddie never truly enjoyed staying at the Mysterio household whenever Rey or his wife Angie asked him over. That had nothing to do with the quality of their hospitality and everything to do with the fact that Guerrero viewed the family home as a private sanctuary - he was always respectful of their space and hated to intrude.

That, to Dom, summed Eddie up. He was a gentle, caring man who looked out for Dominik when he was only a kid, and he wishes he'd been able to show him what he's learned.
