Who Does WWE's Triple H Think Is The "Best Women's Wrestler In The World"?

Who does 'The Game' look up to?

Io Shirai

Triple H conducted a media call to promote NXT TakeOver: In Your House and named Io Shirai as the "best women's wrestler in the world".

'The Game' was quick to praise reigning NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair as someone who carries herself like any unbeatable champion should, but he reckons it's Shirai who can lay claim to being the best female talent worldwide right now.

That's quite the statement.

Shirai will face Flair and Rhea Ripley in a Triple Threat match for the title at TakeOver this weekend, and she must be pleased that someone so high up in WWE's food chain thinks so much of her. Could this be a hint that Io is next in line to become NXT Women's Champion?

There's still unfinished business between Ripley and Charlotte (Rhea hasn't had her one-on-one rematch since losing the belt at WrestleMania 36), but Shirai could be an outside bet.

Triple H did also say that one hidden upside of closed sets is that WWE are able to keep plans under wraps better than before. Maybe that's his way of dropping hints that Shirai will take the title? Who knows.
