Damian Priest earned the final spot in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match Monday night, defeating a game Matt Riddle on WWE Raw.

Priest joins Santos Escobar, LA Knight, Butch, Shinsuke Nakamura and Ricochet in WWE's annual scramble for the MITB briefcase, guaranteeing the winner a title match of their choosing at any time they desire.

Damian has been on a bit of an odd run lately, losing a high-profile and very well-regarded match against Bad Bunny at Backlash, then losing a World Heavyweight Championship open challenge last week. Still, Priest has been spotlighted recently and performed really well, so it's clear that he's being put in a more prominent position.

Interestingly, none of the male competitors are former world champions or MITB winners, which is a departure from the past several years. Nakamura is a previous Royal Rumble match winner, but none of the others have won a signature WWE match, making this a real opportunity to elevate someone by winning the briefcase.

The women's MITB match still has one open spot, with Zoey Stark, Becky Lynch, Zelina Vega, Bayley and Iyo Sky already qualifying.
