Who Tried To Talk Cody Out Of THAT AEW Moonsault?

Someone was "adamant" he didn't do his steel cage dive...

Cody Cage

Cody told Sports Illustrated that numerous people backstage tried to talk him out of that spectacular moonsault off the cage during last week's episode of AEW Dynamite, but one man in particular was "adamant" he didn't do it.

That man was AEW chief Tony Khan.

Rhodes put over Khan as one hell of a boss because he was showing genuine concern for the bump and didn't think it was necessary for Cody and Wardlow to have an excellent match. The moonsault left Rhodes with injuries and was one of the most risky stunts AEW has tried so far.

Cody knew the risks though, and he wasn't going to let anybody talk him off that literal ledge. That's why, on the day of the show, he deliberately stayed away from the hubbub happening behind the curtain and didn't speak to many people.

Despite being confident he could pull off the dive, Cody did spend an awful lot of time thinking about whether or not he should do it. Once he'd made up his mind, there was no going back.

Khan, who was only worried about his friend, saw his pleading fall on deaf ears.
