Why Dragon Lee Can't Wrestle For WWE Right Now

Rising WWE star Dragon Lee suffers unfortunate setback.

WWE star Dragon Lee is currently unable to leave Mexico after running into visa issues, meaning the NXT North American Champion will miss tonight's New Year's Evil special.

Lee had been scheduled to team with the Latino World Order's Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro against Drew Gulak, Myles Borne, and Damon Kemp of the No Quarter Catch Crew at New Year's Evil. In his tweet announcing the visa problems, Lee claimed the LWO had a "big surprise" in store instead:

PWInsider's Mike Johnson has good news, however, stating that Dragon Lee's new work visa for the United States has been approved. Because this happened during the holiday season, it didn't get back to him in time for him to head back to the US from Mexico ahead of New Year's Evil, hence the problems.

Johnson states that Lee is expected back in the US "relatively soon." This Friday's SmackDown may be realistic, as it is just a case of getting the physical visa in the North American Champion's hands.

Lee has been NXT North American Champion since defeating Dominik Mysterio on 9 December - and has already mounted three successful defences.
