Jinder Mahal has received a lot of backstage praise in WWE for the hard work he's put in since returning to the promotion last year, according to the Wrestling Observer.

Undergoing a physical transformation, the Indo-Canadian star has caught the attention of higher-ups due to his hard work and dedication since last Summer, and that's why he was installed as Randy Orton's next WWE Title challenger on the most recent episode of SmackDown.

A recent WWE press release revealed that the company just hired Sheetesh Srivastava as new Vice President and General Manager of their Indian operations, and whilst further expansion into the Indian market may have some bearing on Mahal's push, the Observer claims it has more to do with his hard graft.

Coincidence or not, the hard-working Jinder is said to be very popular behind the scenes at WWE, and everyone is pleased that he's getting the opportunity to work at a main event level for the first time in his WWE career.

The Observer stated that those who know Mahal say he is taking this run very seriously and is "working his ass off" in preparation for Backlash.
