Why Johnny Gargano Was Worried About His WWE Return

'Johnny Wrestling' couldn't shake this worry before returning on WWE Raw.

Johnny Gargano was genuinely worried that WWE fans wouldn't remember him.

The comeback king roared back into view on Monday's episode of Raw, but he was "a nervous wreck" for days before appearing on the company flagship. Gargano told WWE cameras post-show that it felt like "a huge weight was lifted off [his] shoulders" when he saw his name flash up on the tron and fans popped.

Former NXT standout Gargano was really concerned that people might sit on their hands or give him a popcorn fart reaction - that was never going to happen, but it didn't stop 'Johnny Wrestling' from fearing the worst.

He pointed out that he cut his teeth on NXT, not WWE's main roster. That, to Johnny, meant there was a very-real chance that most who attend Raw and/or SmackDown but barely pay attention to the third brand would 'meh' their way through his return.

Gargano has slid right into a program opposite old protege Theory. That'll be a fine launching pad for Johnny's return, and should help establish him on the main roster ASAP.
