For those wondering why Lance Archer hasn't kept an active in-ring schedule lately, 'The Murderhawk Monster' has revealed he has been dealing with a torn triceps.

The AEW and NJPW star said as much after wrestling Will Ospreay at New Japan's Dominion event this Sunday. Speaking following the contest in a backstage promo, Archer stated that his relative inactivity didn't have anything to do with booking, adding that he hadn't revealed the injury previously because he didn't want anyone's sympathy.

There is a reason I haven't been wrestling a lot and it has nothing to do with bad booking you dumbs**ts. What everybody doesn't even realize is that I've been battling a torn triceps and I've kept it quiet, I didn't tell anybody, because I don't need your sympathy, I don't need your get well wishes, I don't need anything. I just needed time and now I'm back.

Lance was defeated by Ospreay at Dominion, with the outcome meaning Will challenges Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship in the future.

Archer's last AEW match came at the promotion's 24 March Dark: Elevation tapings, where he defeated Bryce Cannon. The big man has worked 10 matches across multiple promotions in 2023.
