Why Michelle McCool Had WWE Heat For Dating The Undertaker

"Why don't we just call this the Michelle McCool and Undertaker show?".

That's something a member of WWE's creative team once yelled at Michelle McCool when she innocently suggested something for that evening's broadcast backstage. It wasn't an isolated incident, and it reminded Michelle that she had heat with some because she was romantically linked to 'Taker.

How very dare she.

McCool told Lilian Garcia's 'Chasing Glory' podcast that a select few on the writing staff actually told Stephanie McMahon they couldn't work with her. Michelle had no idea why at the time, because she wasn't exactly difficult to work with, but thinks a lot of folks were jealous that she was dating someone with so much clout.

Some WWE writers used McCool's relationship with 'The Deadman' as an excuse to belittle her and treat her like she was only there because of her boyfriend. That led to a serious breakdown in communication with more than one creative team member.

In retrospect, said writers are probably lucky that Michelle didn't moan to The Undertaker about this. He could've made life even more uncomfortable for those folks.
