Why Riho Hasn't Been On AEW TV Lately

Where in the world is the former AEW Women's World Champion?

If you were wondering why Riho hasn't been seen in All Elite Wrestling lately, it's because she has returned to her native Japan.

This is according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Riho's last AEW appearance came on the debut episode of Dark: Elevation (10 March), where she wrestled Maki Itoh in main event. She had participated in the Women's World Championship eliminator tournament prior to that, felling Serena Deeb at the first stage before being put out by Thunder Rosa, as well as teaming with Rosa to face Britt Baker and Itoh at Revolution 2021.

Those last few appearances were Riho's first for AEW in close to a year, as the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from travelling for further appearances after competing in a four-way on the 18 March 2020 episode of Dynamite. Riho worked for STARDOM in her time away from AEW, finishing up with the leading joshi promotion in December 2020.

There's currently no word on when, exactly, Riho might return to AEW television, though the promotion will no doubt be looking forward to welcome the proven quarter-hour ratings draw back.
