Why Saraya Chose AEW Over WWE

Saraya was REALLY close to making a WWE return, then AEW changed her mind.

Saraya has revealed that conversations with Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Britt Baker and Tony Khan convinced her to give AEW "a shot".

The All Elite newbie told Jericho on his podcast that she was very close to inking a fresh deal with WWE before speaking to all four folks on the AEW side. Saraya also admitted that she wishes "some things had been differently" on WWE's end over the past couple of years.

This follows reports that Triple H tried to get the then-Paige to re-sign in August. Looking back, Saraya is glad she didn't, and she's looking forward to seeing what's possible on Tony Khan's side of the fence. Is the grass greener? Only time will tell, but the Brit likes everything she's experienced thus far.

Saraya told Jericho that she hasn't "felt excited about wrestling in a very long time". AEW gave her that old passion back, and she knew she had to explore things fully outside WWE's bubble again. It was a risk, but one she was fully prepared to take for her own personal happiness.

The "awesome" All Elite environment appeals to her.
