Why Shayna Baszler Secretly LOVES Teaming With Nia Jax In WWE

Fans might not be sold on WWE's team with Nia Jax, but Shayna Baszler is.

Shayna Baszler is regularly cited as someone who could do a lot more if WWE's pesky creative direction wouldn't stop getting in the way of her progress.

The former NXT Women's Champion burst onto Raw's scene by targeting then-head girl Becky Lynch, and that led to a match between the pair at WrestleMania 36. Following that, WWE decided to cool Shayna off and shunt her into a tag-team with Nia Jax.

Fans weren't keen, but Baszler loves it.

She told Sports Illustrated that teaming with Jax has helped her "expand [her] pro wrestling repertoire" over the past year or so. Working tag matches wasn't something Shayna was really prepared for when she joined WWE - it's not something she made a habit of in NXT either.

Baszler revealed that "Nia has been a huge help behind the scenes". Together, the pair captured the Women's Tag-Team Titles twice, and they're still aligned on screen today despite Shayna spinning off into a feud with Alexa Bliss.

Shayna has enjoyed teaming with Jax because it's a fresh challenge. She also said working tags has put "more tools in [her] toolbox".
