If you have been wondering why Zelina Vega has suddenly vanished from WWE programming, it's because she is injured.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that the 2021 Queen's Crown Tournament winner got hurt between the ropes to the extent that she required surgery. Queen Zelina is now expected to need another 6-8 weeks away from television before she is ready to go again, making SummerSlam 2022 (30 July) a realistic target for her comeback.

Johnson states that sources indicate Zelina could be in line for a push upon returning, with the former Women's Tag Team Champion receiving behind-the-scenes praise for her hard work.

Vega's last televised WWE match came on the 11 April episode of Raw, where she served as a post-WrestleMania 38 enhancement talent for new Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair. Zelina and Carmella had lost their Women's Tag Team Titles to Naomi and Sasha Banks at 'Mania 38, prompting the duo to split up on Raw.

That split angle was never truly followed up on. Now that we know Zelina is injured, this becomes understandable.

Pre-injury, Vega had been active in WWE since returning in July 2021, having previously sat out for seven months due to a contract dispute.
