Why WWE Didn't Air Pat McAfee Impersonating Vince McMahon On SmackDown Video

WWE fans didn't get to see Pat McAfee do his best Vince McMahon on SmackDown. Here's why.

Pat McAfee shared a short video of him arriving at the ThunderDome for Friday's 'Throwback' episode of SmackDown on his Twitter page. In it, the colour commentator was dressed up as Vince McMahon - he even wore a wig, shaved for the occasion, and put on his best gravelly Vinnie Mac voice.

According to Pat, that 45-second clip was supposed to air right at the start of the show.

It didn't though. WWE pulled the video shortly before SmackDown started, meaning everyone was robbed of Vince McMcAfee (no typo there; McMcAfee is a fine, perfectly reasonable surname). Only those who follow the @WWEonFOX account, or Pat, on social media clapped eyes on the thing.

That's a damn shame, but WWE obviously didn't like it as much as Pat.

McAfee tweeted out that "ideas got changed immediately" after they wrapped up filming. He did, however, get to wear his retro-tastic pastel suit on SmackDown and put on Vince's voice a few times for big spots. Pat also mimicked AEW's Jim Ross when Kevin Owens hit a Stunner on Apollo Crews that sent the heel flying.

"Bah gawd", he shouted as Michael Cole snorted in the seat next to him.
