Why WWE Just Called An Audible On THIS Raw Match Finish

Here's why that Humberto Carillo vs. Sheamus finish felt so abrupt.

WWE called an audible on the finish to last night's Raw match between Humberto Carrillo and Sheamus after Carillo took an awkward bump on the outside of the ring.

This is according to a new report from Fightful Select. The referee checked on Carrillo after he hit Sheamus with a sunset flip powerbomb on the outside, with the United States Champion landing on his challenger's knee. That's why we got the referee stoppage finish immediately after this - even though it wasn't originally planned.

WWE's official had stopped his double 10-count to check on Carrillo after he had signalled for help, prompting the confusing finish. It was an awkward, nasty bump, with Humberto's knee taking all of Sheamus' 250lbs, though there's currently no word on Carrillo's condition after it.

Here's hoping that if the high-flier is injured, it isn't too bad.

Sheamus vs. Carrillo was a product of Sheamus' latest United States Title open challenge series. The duo have been feuding for several weeks now, with the debuting Mansoor seemingly joining the fray on last week's episode of Raw, though the Saudi Arabian was nowhere to be seen here.
