Why WWE Postponed This Week's Karrion Kross Vs. Santos Escobar NXT Match
Escobar vs. Kross was rearranged for next week's WWE NXT. Here's what happened...
A scheduled non-title match pitting Karrion Kross against Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar was scrubbed from this week's episode of WWE NXT, with the bout now set to go down on next week's show instead.
What happened? Speaking on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Kross vs. Escobar was pushed back as a result of a medical issue. No further details were offered beyond that, though Meltzer said he learned of the problem on Tuesday, expressing his surprise that WWE had only postponed the clash by a single week.
Whether or not the clash will actually go down next week remains to be seen. NXT General Manager William Regal has stipulated that if Escobar doesn't show up, he'll be stripped of his Cruiserweight Title and handed a suspension. WWE ran a storyline on Wednesday that saw Santos claim he was going home from the Capitol Wrestling Center as he didn't like being threatened by Kross.
Kross, Scarlett, Escobar, and Santos' Legado del Fantasma stablemates Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza didn't appear live from the CWC, with Kross, Scarlett, and Escobar featuring only in pretaped segments.
