Will Ospreay Vs Rey Mysterio Announced For Pro Wrestling World Cup 17
One of the competitions biggest stars faces early elimination in mega-tie.
The opening round of What Culture Pro Wrestling's World Cup finals will see England's Will Ospreay take on Mexico's Rey Mysterio for a spot in the last eight.
The competition's other Englishman, Zack Sabre Jr., also faces an uphill battle to make the quarter finals, having been drawn alongside one of the winners of next week's USA qualifier (Jay Lethal, Moose, David Starr or Bobby Fish).
The second wrestler to advance from the USA preliminaries (from the opposite side of the bracket, either Ricochet, Matt Sydal, Keith Lee or James Storm) will face one of the two winners from Saturday's Rest of World qualifier (Angelico, Icarus, Flash Morgan Webster or RJ Singh) in the event's mystery tie.
Elsewhere, Scotland hopes Kenny Williams and Joe Coffey will face Japan's Kushida and Michael Elgin of Canada respectively.
The second Japanese qualifier, Hiromu Takahashi, must overcome Germany's Lucky Kid, whose fellow countryman Bad Bones will battle Mexican Penta El 0M.
In the draw's final tie, Canadian Mike Bailey will face off against the other Rest of World qualifier (either Travis Banks, Mark Davies, Jurn Simmons or Tom LaRuffa).
All eight matches will take place in Milton Keynes on August 23, with tickets available from prowrestlingworldcup.com
