After being unceremoniously eliminated from the Royal Rumble last week, Naomi came looking for revenge Friday, but she left with SmackDown Women's Championship match for next week.

Naomi finally got her hands on WWE official Sonya Deville during the Rumble match, tossing Deville as payback for assaulting her former partner Cameron. Sonya would then yank Naomi off the apron despite already being out of the Rumble, eliminating Naomi.

On SmackDown Friday, Naomi stormed into the GMs' office, demanding that Deville meet her in the ring in five minutes. When Sonya backpedaled, Naomi offered next week, to which Deville also demurred and then instead offered up a title match against Charlotte Flair. Adam Pearce made it official, setting the SmackDown Women's Championship match for next Friday night.

It's good to see fresh matches on the blue brand that follow logical storytelling, as Naomi and Flair have only faced off twice in the past four weeks, with Charlotte winning both championship contender's matches, so clearly Naomi has earned this title opportunity... oh wait.

Given that during the same show we learned who Flair will be facing for the title at WrestleMania 38, it's more than likely that this is just filler and angle advancement for the ongoing Naomi/Deville storyline, but if given some time, it could at least be a decent match. It just defeats the purpose of having the previous two contender's matches last month.
