Tenille Dashwood just worked her first WWE match in over five years on Friday's episode of SmackDown.

The ex-IMPACT Wrestling star returned to her old Emma ring name and answered Ronda Rousey's open challenge. This was Dashwood's first WWE match since losing to Asuka on the 23 October 2017 edition of Raw; it was also Emma's first SmackDown bout since teaming with Charlotte Flair in a losing effort vs. Becky Lynch and Natalya on the 5 May 2016 show.

This had been quite the wait then.

It's unclear just yet whether or not this will lead to a full-time run for Emma in the company. It could be a one off, but early indications suggest Triple H is interested in more. She was previously in WWE between 2011-2017, and experienced several false starts on the main roster.

Most notably, Emma rebranded herself "Emmalina" in late-2016, but the new character had barely debuted before WWE pulled the plug.

Rousey retained her SmackDown Women's Title by beating the comeback queen on Friday. Now, attention turns to what's next for Ronda. WWE's writers don't seem to have much lined up.
