WWE: 10 Best Elimination Chamber Matches

3. New Year€™s Revolution 2005

Triple H defeated Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Batista, and Edge to win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwpQ6jLMIG0 This is the Chamber match we€™re not really allowed to talk about if we€™re WWE because it involved Wrestler X. We€™ll just bypass Wrestler X here. This match featured seven of the top workers in the entire company (including the referee, Shawn Michaels, who was just returning from a pretty serious knee injury). The amount of storylines in this match were crazy. First, there was Shawn Michaels and Edge. Edge had speared HBK back at Taboo Tuesday because he was jealous that Shawn got the fan€™s vote to face Triple H when he was injured, effectively turning heel. Edge speared HBK during this match, and got Sweet Chin Music for his troubles. This kick-started the underrated rivalry between the two which led to a great technical wrestling match at Royal Rumble and an even better street fight on Raw. Then there was the emerging storyline of Batista getting too good and too popular for Evolution and Triple H. Going into the match, Batista was to play enforcer for The Game (similar to how Ted Dibaise was going to for Randy Orton in 2010), and as the match came down to the final three, Randy Orton hit Batista with an RKO, and you could see Triple H start to go for the save before slumping back down in the corner, refusing to save Big Dave and letting him get eliminated. It was one of the best matches in 2005, a year chock-full of fantastic bouts.
